Eighties Vs. Ninetys

June 12, 2007 · Leave a Comment

listen here

Tonight we are back after a two (or three month) hiatus with our special eighties vs. ninetys special! WOOOOO!

We kicked off with Henry supporting the…(ugh)…eighties with bands such as:

Beastie Boys “Fight For Your Right” (because henrys gotta fight for his right to love marmite)

U2 “With Or Without You”

And the sensational Billy Idol!!! With his smash hit “Rebel Yell!” (because he was to drunk to come up with a better song)

Next we have the amazing Josh supporting the equally amazing Ninetys with songs such as:

Nirvana “All Apologies” (hes apologizing to us for the eighties….cause they sucked!)

Dynamite Hack “Boyz N’ The Hood”

Radiohead “Paranoid Android” “Creep”

And then we decided to mix it up and pick a song from each others decade.

Henry – Pulp “Disco 2000″

Josh – Violent Femmes “Add It Up”

Dont forget to vote for the decade you liked best in the comment box (pick the ninetys) and remember to judge fairly and weigh your decisions equally (ninetys) pick the decade YOU think is the best (the ninetys) oh and email us at leftovermusic@hotmail.com if you want.

“this episode makes number 7 it’s bitch” – Josh

On this episode we tried to mix it up a little, play different music and change the rotation because of certain stupid critiques (BRANDON!!!) So we sort of did a back and forth rotation of our songs.

Josh was first with:
Art Brut “Post Soothing Out” (Cashback!!)

Then Henry with:
Kings of Leon “On Call”

Josh again:
The Decemberists “16 Military Wives”

Henry:
The Klaxons “Gold Skanz” (Good Ksong)

Then Josh with:
Bright Eyes “No One Would Riot for Less” (Dedicated to Katie)

And finally Henry with:
Neill Young “Old Man” (~!OMG!!~ OLD GUYS RULE~ LOLZ~~~xxx)

And our closer tonight was the amazing….
Un Kazhakstan from Borat!!!

Also don’t forget to go get Kings of Leons new CD “Because of the Times” in stores now, and Bright Eyes “Cassadaga” coming out April 10.

Leftover Music Reviews first award! THE COOLEST WEBSITE OF THE YEAR!!! This year it goes to……LAST.FM!!! For all around awesomeness!

Plus our plan to get an interview with Tilly and the Wall is under way. Will they consent to the interview? Will they like Josh’s frickin awesome fan art? Will Henry ever get that pony? All your answers will be reveiled on the next episode of Leftovers Music Review!

Josh, Henry, and Brandon are rockin’ out onto your computer with more indie music than you can download illegally off the internet in one sitting! (ha josh made an indie funny!)

Henry
Silverchair “Straight Lines”
The Living End “Prisoner of Society”

Josh
The Infidels “Satellite in my Brain”
Nine Inch Nails “Survivalism” (oh my God! A band people have heard of!)

Brandon
Cold War Kids “Hang Me Up to Dry”
Silversun Pickups “Lazy Eye” (brandon got them from MTV…the indie in me is crying)

There is also much talk about how late it is and how tired everyone was. Josh also burns on Henry alot and disses Green Day!

If you would like to be a guest in the near future, or have suggestions or comments, please email us at leftovermusic@hotmail.com.

Special Thanks to Brandon! We couldn’t of done it without you buddy!
